This 19 days and 18 nights North East India With Bhutan will give you a chance to get a glimpse of the exotic destinations of the North-Eastern India, which has not been explored much as of now. You do not only get to see the exotic natural beauty if various destinations but you can savor the teachings of Buddhist linings in many of the places. This part of India has not been explored much by the local or the international tourist but the coming times seem to be quite promising. Get a chance to visit the amazing Bhutan also.
Arrive in Kolkata. Meet our tour representative at the airport and get an assistance to get transferred to the hotel.
Spend day 2 in local sightseeing which is going to include plaaces like the Victoria Memorial, the Hanging Howrah Bridge, the Birla Planetarium (the second largest planetarium in Asia), the recently built Vidyasagar Setu, Eden Garden, Fort William, Rat Park and Marble Palace. An overnight styay at hotel.
Catch a flight for Bagdogra from the airport. Once you arrive, head to Darjeeling and check into a hotel. Take an evening walk around the town. Head to hotel for ginner & overnight stay.
Have breakfast, take a drive to Tiger hill. Return back to Darjeeling via Aloobari Monastery & country side. Have dinner & stay overnight at hotel.
Have your breakfast. Enjoy Toy Train to Ghoom in the morning (Depends on the operation of this train & availability of the seats otherwise by Jeep). Return back to the hotel by walk through Gandhi Road, In the afternoon, visit Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre (Closed on Sunday), Himalayan Mountaineering Instt/Zoo (Closed on Thursday). Procedd to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Get transferred to Pelling after having your breakfast. Spend your afternoon at Pemayangtse Monastery & Rabdantse ruins.
On day 7, after Breakfast, hit the road to Khecheopalri Lake & return back.(Carry your Lunch).
After having breakfast on day 8, head to Pelling. The day is free for leisure activities rest. Take dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Book this day for sighseeing activity after Breakfast. Visit Rumtek Monastery, Tibetology (Closed on Sunday) & Do Drul Chorten. Then go to Enchey Monastery & Cottage Industry (Closed on Sunday). Move to the hotel for dinner & staying overnight.
Take your breakfast and then get ready for full day sightseeing/ take either a drive or walk to Tashiview Point then to Pangthang Forest for catching a glimpse of the village life, mountains overlooking Gangtok (carry your lunch). In the evening, trek back to Gangtok. Take dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Once done with the morning chores, proceed to Kalimpong for a sightseeing tour of Durpin Dara, Tharpa Choling Monastery,Zang Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery,Nursery & Market. Return back to the hotel at night for dinner & an overnight stay.
After having your breakfast, hit the road to Phuntsoling from where you will start the journey to Bhutan. Reach Phuntsholing, our tour representative will help you in getting transferred to your hotel . spend the evening in leisure activities. O/N
On done with the breakfast, drive to Thimphu. On the way, pay a visit to Kharbandi Gompa, which is 4 Kms away from Phuntsholing.
Move further to Thimphu. Lunch will be served enroute.
Befor you reach Thimphu, 5 kms ahead of it visit Simtokha Dzong. It is the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the School for religious and cultural studies.
Spend the evening in Thimphu at your leisure. Spend the night at the hotel.
After breakfast, start the day with sightseeing in Thimphu wherein, you will be visiting National Library ( Closed on Weekends ), the School of Arts & crafts ( Closed on Weekends ) and the folk Heritage and National Textile Museums (Closed on Sunday).
The afternoon visits are to King's Memorial Chorten (It is consistently circled by people, chating mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Then, it is Trashichhodzong. After this comes the turn of Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops, which is run by the government. You can make purchase of hand-woven textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry, etc.
Dinner and an overnight stay at the Hotel.
In the morning, take the road for Dochu-la pass. On the way, you will get a chance to visit the following peaks (left to right): Masagang, Tsendagang, Terigang, Jejegangphugang, Kangphugang, Zongphugang and Gangkar puensum(the highest peak in Bhutan). On the way, you can visit the Wangduephodrang Dzong and local market.
Later, in the day, visit Punakha Dzong, (It has played an important role in the history of Bhutan).
Return to the hotel for dinner and staying overnight. (B).
On day 16, drive to Paro where during the Afternoon, you will visit Ta Dzong (Closed on Sunday & Monday). Then take a walk down the hill for visiting Rinpung Dzong. (B)
Stay overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, start your sightseeing excursion by visiting Taktshang Lakhang (one of the most famous of monasteries in Bhutan). after this drive to Paro town, on the way visiting Kyichu Lhakhang. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Once you are done with an early breakfast, get transferred to the airport to atch a flight to Delhi. On arrival, meet the tour representative of Indian Holidays who will assist you in getting transferred to the hotel. Stay overnight on hotel.
Bokk day 19, for a city tour covering Laxmi Narayan Temple, India Gate, Parliament House, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Gandhi memorial, Qutub Minar Complex and Humayun's Tomb. Later head to the airport, to catch an onward flight. (B)
